Challenge

Ability to market and manage residential energy products. Lack of automation and significant paper and manual processes kill profitability. Lacked the ability to create, track and manage sales and marketing KPIs.


Solution

In close partnership with the client, helped build, enhance and support a pre-cursor to Salesforce CG Cloud within Salesforce Communities (now called Salesforce Experience Cloud). When residential customers entered the portal, the system’s real-time data feeds pulled large multi-year data-sets of energy usage measurements from residential smart-meters taken every 5 to 10 seconds. Running this data through customer marketing optimization algorithms allowed the system to automatically configure and shop the best energy product and package for the customer within just a few seconds.


Results

Using various data feeds and complex algorithms, the system was able to quickly identify and offer customers a cheaper energy plan, the vast majority of the time.
